June - from the Inside

Had this Sunday off from work today which is nearly unheard of. I didn't know what to do with myself, home alone and bored. I decided to take some pictures inside since I didn't know where to go outside. There's nothing really special in here but I tried to get creative to entertain myself. :)

Summer Has Begun...

It seems that in every post I write, my opening photo graphic becomes more intensified. I miss making graphics so I use my photos to get it out. :) I wish I could make a living off a blog. I really do. And photos. I love this stuff. I'm trying to figure out how to get this site more popular. It helped a lot when we still had Flatts Online up and running but I'm so busy now and all of the galleries and blogs we used are not working anymore. I think it's too far gone to ever get it back and it makes me really sad. I loved that site and how popular it was. It got this website a lot of hits but now it's all gone. :(
Summer is here! I'm enjoying my time off from school. Not looking forward to the fall semester - uninteresting classes! Next month I'm going back home and I'm so excited to see my parents and family! I'll definitely have a lot of photos to post after that. Anyways, here are a few I took last week. Very summer-y. :)

These are more photos from mine and my sister's "photoshoots". The goal of this was to get new, updated pictures of us to send to our parents for Mother's Day and at the same time, an early Father's Day gift. They loved them and I love how they turned out!

I finally got my sister to come with me to take pictures. I never want to go alone and don't know where good spots are. We went to one park and it was kind of lame. Then we went to a different one that had trails through the woods and it was so pretty!! I got attacked by fire ants though and it wasn't fun. I cannot wait to go again so I can take more pictures.

I have not posted in quite some time and am about to post a lot! I always want to go out and take pictures but never know where to go around here. Well the other day, I finally went on an adventure. I had a goal in mind to go out and take photos, but I can't post much from it because my goal was a present for someone. I doubt they would come here and see it but I better be safe.
Anyways, here is a different kind of post. I have had a Pinterest for quite awhile but I have become addicted to it lately. Whenever I'm bored, It's where I go. Like everyone does, I always pin cool things I want to try, but never try them. I am getting better at it though. I am trying to grow out my hair and get it healthy, so I am currently trying coconut milk treatments. I laugh at myself, I really do. Recipes are the number one, "I have to try this but never really will!". I tried one the other night though and that is the purpose of this post. I'm writing too much so I'll finish inside the post...

January - Coffee Filters

Trying something different. A craft-y post, and textures. Ooooh.
I see many things on Pinterest that I want to make but this one caught my attention. I love huge lanterns and lights that hang from the ceiling but of course they are way too expensive(for me anyways). When I found this tutorial I couldn't resist. Like I said, I found it on Pinterest but the post is from Jones Design Company.
I bought the styrofoam ball for $6 at Michael's, and she said she used 100 coffee filters so I bought 2 packs(just to be safe and thank God I bought two) of 100 for 89¢ a piece at Target. This was such an easy project but of course I made it the longest, most difficult project ever.
Separating and folding the filters was the most time consuming part. I also burnt myself multiple times with the glue gun.

Christmas Vacation

My sister and I went home for Christmas to see our parents, sisters, nieces and nephew. It was beyond fun since we hadn't seen our parents for 6 months(way too long) and our sisters for over a year. It was so cold and snowy but without that, it just doesn't feel like Christmas.

Winter

I'm on day #2 of winter break and I am bored already. I spent a little bit of time on Pinterest and got inspired to make crafty decorations for my room. Sadly, I currently lack the supplies I want so I settled for photography instead. I wanted to get some Christmas/winter-y photos but I didn't find much.

I haven't went for a walk to take pictures in a couple months. There isn't anywhere close by that is good for picture taking. :( This was an adventurous walk though - a cop stopped by me to talk about deer, and I twisted my ankle and almost fell down.

Life Is Crazy

I haven't posted in 6 months. That's crazy! Sadly I haven't been taking as many photos as I used to. I need to change that because I miss it severely. The other day I just hit my 1 year mark of living here. I can't even express in words how unpredictable it has been and how much has changed/happened in the past 12 months. I just realized that no one will probably ever read this but oh well. Loooong story short - I'm now living on my own with my sister and our parents are back in WI. It was our choice and I think it was the right one. But today I was looking at old pictures and I miss my family so much(Only one of my many siblings lives here). It brought tears to my eyes.
But enough sadness, here are some photos. I went to the coast a couple weeks ago and it was beautiful.
